Cinema Arena Vittoria

Last appointment of the summer series Theater in the village. The protagonist of the event will be Italian singer-songwriter and musician Luigi De Crescenzo, known as Pacifico. At 21.30, in the suggestive setting of the historic Cinema Vittoria arena, with the show “Sentimental Diary of a Free Woman”, a tribute show dedicated to Ornella Vanoni. It is a meeting made of words, memories and music, born from a long and deep acquaintance. Pacifico tells the story of Ornella starting from the years spent together, on a human and artistic level: the meetings, the conversations, the songs, the shared episodes. The personal narrative is interwoven with pages from the biography Winner or Loser, written together with Vanoni herself, while Carlo Gaudiello on the piano and Elisa Parmigiani on vocals bring to music some of the most important pieces of her extraordinary career. An intimate, ironic and surprising account emerges, far from the artist’s purely public image. It is the Ornella that allows herself to be approached, the one with carefully kept memories and those that would be better kept at a distance; of lightness used as an antidote to melancholy, of fears, contradictions, curiosity and that freedom she never stopped claiming. Pacifico knew her closely and found her exactly as he remembered: intelligent, unpredictable, amusing, capable of surprising and moving in a matter of a few words. Over the years he has written songs for her, shared the Sanremo stage with her and collected her memories in a book born from a dialogue written by four hands. Sentimental Diary of a Free Woman thus restores an authentic and unfiltered Ornella Vanoni: fragile and combative, ironic and melancholic, full of life and fears. A woman who always preferred risk to caution and who, faced with the choice between going back and diving in, almost always chose the second path. Pacifico, stage name of Luigi De Crescenzo, is one of the most appreciated singer-songwriters and authors on the Italian music scene. Throughout his career he has written and collaborated with numerous great artists, including Ennio Morricone, Gianna Nannini, Samuele Bersani, Eros Ramazzotti, Zucchero, Giorgia, Andrea Bocelli, Malika Ayane, Francesco Gabbani and Gianni Morandi. He has released six albums under his own name. With his debut album, Pacifico, he received the Targa Tenco as best debut work. In 2015, together with Samuele Bersani, he signed The Stories You Don’t Know, awarded the Targa Tenco for Song of the Year. He participated twice in the Sanremo Festival: in 2004 as a performer, obtaining the Critics’ Award, and in 2018 together with Ornella Vanoni and Bungaro. He has also worked in cinema with directors such as Gabriele Muccino (Remember Me), Neri Marcorè (Zamora), Roberta Torre (Sud Side Story) and Michela Andreozzi (Parents Vs Influencers). In theater he wrote and performed the monologue Boxing in Milan. He is also the author of two novels, I Gave You a Kiss While You Slept and Me and My Family of Barbarians, both published by La Nave di Teseo. For the same publishing house he wrote together with Ornella Vanoni Winner or Loser, the sentimental and biographical diary that stems from their long human and artistic relationship.

Multipurpose Hall Palazzo E. Pietracaprina

Final event of the summer series Author Evenings and Afternoons. The protagonist of the event will be Italian singer-songwriter and musician Luigi De Crescenzo, known as Pacifico. At 6:00 PM, at the Multipurpose Hall of Palazzo E. Pietracaprina, Pacifico will present “Winner or Loser” by La Nave di Teseo Editore. Pacifico meets Ornella Vanoni and a first-person confession book is born, intimate and engaging. A journey through the thoughts and emotions of an incomparable woman and artist, capable of telling her story with all the fragility and determination that made her an icon for different generations. There is melancholy, the kind that chooses and preserves, as long as it doesn’t turn into sadness. And, worse still, into depression. There is humor, relentless. There are the thousands of people met along the way, faces and stories that still resurface today, like images that return when you close your eyes. And then there is love. Always. Until the last minute. The authentic portrait of a woman who, between a cautious step and a leap into the void, always chose to move forward. The meeting will be introduced by Graziella Frasca Gallo. Piazza Castello Borelli

Friday, September 4th at 6:00 PM, along the forest paths around Castello Borelli, Teatro Mobile presents a new experience of listening theatre, between nature, sound and movement. An island to cross, a storm to listen to, a journey through memory, power and knowledge is Storm at Borghetto Santo Spirito – Variations on Shakespeare, an original production by Teatro Mobile of Rome, conceived by Pina Catanzariti and directed by Marcello Cava, which offers an original reinterpretation of William Shakespeare’s The Tempest through an immersive and itinerant experience. The project draws inspiration from the Shakespearean drama written between 1610 and 1611, with its story of exile, power, magic and reconciliation, to construct a new dramaturgy connected to the territory. The themes of the work, such as journey, sea, time, knowledge, power and advancing age, enter into dialogue with the history and nature of the place. In Storm at Borghetto Santo Spirito – Variations on Shakespeare, the forest is not a simple backdrop, but becomes an integral part of the performance. Spectators will be guided along the paths by TERREdoveANDARE guides, following an itinerary constructed through voices, music, sounds, silences and natural sounds. The experience unfolds in movement and with headphone listening, the sound dramaturgy guides the audience in discovering the landscape, changing its perception and transforming the path into a true theatrical space. With this production Teatro Mobile continues its research into the possibilities of a theatre capable of stepping out of conventional spaces and establishing a direct relationship with places, landscapes and cultural heritage. The project is realized with the contribution of the municipality of Borghetto Santo Spirito. Direction: Marcello Cava, Cast: Raffaele Gangale, Giulietta De Bernardi, Alberto Danzi, Marco Gobetti, Caterina Momo, Claudia Zaccheo, Paolo Musio. Given the nature of the route, suitable footwear, hiking clothing and a water supply are recommended. Headphones will be provided by the organization. Teatro Mobile was born from the thirty-year experience of independent theatre and multidisciplinary research conducted by Marcello Cava, director, and Pina Catanzariti, theatrical author and dramaturge. The path, initiated in 1996, developed around the search for new forms and new meanings of live performance, also understood as an instrument of cultural policy and relationship with the territory. Over the years Cava has directed performances drawn from the classical repertoire, by major twentieth-century authors and contemporary dramaturgy, collaborating with important Italian performers and the country’s leading theatres. Catanzariti contributed, through her authorial and dramaturgical work, to the construction of an artistic and cultural path oriented towards experimentation. Among the most significant experiences, the symbolic reopening of Rome’s Jovinelli Theatre, then an abandoned cultural space and later demolished, became a first emblematic example of how a place could temporarily transform into a space for experimentation and reflection. Since then the project has crossed different languages and territories: from videotheatre (Baal) to the exploration of ancient texts in places of memory, from the SpaziaRoma project, dedicated to the rediscovery of cultural spaces in the city, to works on authors like Sartre and Brecht, up to collaborations with schools and universities. One of the central developments of this research was the creation of a new Carro di Tespi, an experience from which the concept of Teatro Mobile takes shape: a dynamic theatre, also conceived as a response to the chronic lack of permanent theatrical spaces and, above all, as a possibility of bringing performances into significant places of cultural and landscape heritage. Museums, archaeological sites, urban and natural spaces thus become places of creation. Through innovative and non-invasive formulas, Teatro Mobile establishes relationships between material and immaterial heritage, with particular attention to listening theatre, realized in movement and without traditional set-ups. A research that, through the meeting between established artists, young performers, musicians and new generations of the contemporary scene, continues to build a dialogue between tradition and innovation, memory and contemporaneity, performance and territory.
