Saturday, December 5, 2026, at 5:00 PM, at the Multipurpose Hall of Palazzo Elena Pietracaprina in Borghetto Santo Spirito, a new appointment with the “Authors at the Palace” series.
The protagonist of the meeting will be Sabrina Rossi, who will present her book The Signs That Heal – Folk Medicine: The Healers, a Journey into a World that Resists, published by De Ferrari Editore.
At a time when science and medicine have reached extraordinary progress, ancient knowledge still survives, guarded by humble and reserved figures: folk healers.
The Signs That Heal is a journey through rituals, secret words and gestures, in which care and comfort concern not only the body, but also the spiritual and emotional dimension. Through stories, memories and testimonies, the book gives voice to a tradition made of faith, knowledge and folk medicine, still alive in Liguria and in other regions of Italy.
A path that intertwines history, anthropology and narrative, bringing to light ancient healing practices that resist time and represent an important part of the memory and identity of communities.
The volume also includes testimonies from Giuseppe Testa, scholar and passionate about the history of Finalese, and Paolo Giardelli, cultural anthropologist from Genoa and expert in rural traditions and society.
