Castello Borelli
Description
It is a historic building of great significance, constructed starting from 1870 by engineer Borelli, from whom the castle takes its name. It was built on the remains of a convent of Santo Spirito, realized in the early XVII century by the minimal fathers of San Francesco da Paola. The current structure of the building dates back to the XIX century, with a neogothic architectural style. The castle is an example of a historic residence conceived for residential and energy self-sufficiency.
During the twentieth century, the complex underwent modifications due to various uses of the buildings and surrounding space. The position of the castle, above Capo Santo Spirito, offers a unique panoramic location.
The square in front of the castle, recently renovated, hosts shows, concerts and events in summer, transforming itself into a lively meeting place for citizens and visitors.
