This morning, in the council chamber of Piazza Italia, the Blue Flag FEE® 2026 was presented to the beach establishments.
The important flag continues to wave on the coast of Borghetto Santo Spirito, confirming the quality of the water and services offered. The achievement of the Blue Flag is the result of great commitment from all those involved, who have always worked to enhance the beaches, the sea and manage the many activities necessary to guarantee the high standard required to earn this important international recognition.
The Blue Flag, established in 1987, European Year of the Environment, is awarded every year in 49 countries, initially only European, more recently also non-European, with the support and participation of two UN agencies: UNEP (United Nations Environment Programme) and UNWTO (World Tourism Organization) with which the FEE has signed a global partnership protocol and recognized by UNESCO as a world leader in environmental education and education for sustainable development. Blue Flag is a voluntary eco-label awarded to beach tourist destinations that meet criteria related to sustainable management of the territory.
As a complement to the ceremony, the Municipality presented the new tourist website of the Entity https://visitborghetto.it
Designed by Studio Home ADV Design & Comunicazione of Loano, which had already launched the Entity’s new tourist logo, the new website consists of many sections, through which tourists and citizens will be able to discover planned events, the beauty of the sea and the hinterland, the traditions and peculiarities of Borghetto’s history, the sports that can be practiced and activities related to the sea, destinations to visit in the surrounding area, urban parks, trekking trails, pet-friendly sites, entertainment venues, local associations, hospitality facilities, gastronomy, curiosities, useful information and much more.
The website, designed for thematic navigation, also features a section where tourists can discover the possibilities that Borghetto Santo Spirito can offer for a relaxing vacation, between sports and nature, with family, pet-friendly and more. Many downloadable materials, including the city map. Additionally, beautiful photos and videos to make Borghetto Santo Spirito known to everyone.
The website, constantly evolving, also features beach establishments and equipped free beaches, holders of the Blue Flag.
“The Municipality’s commitment to tourism promotion continues with an important milestone, the new tourist website https://visitborghetto.it, which today presents itself to tell the beauty of the territory and the many possibilities that Borghetto Santo Spirito offers. We wanted to begin this journey at the end of 2025, to arrive at presenting a logo and a new tourist website before summer, confident that they can be an important promotional tool for all the activities in our territory. We thank the Associations and businesses that have already been able to communicate to us all the necessary data to include them on the tourist portal, even though they are busy with the upcoming summer season. We invite anyone who has not yet done so to contact our Tourism Office to have their promotional space on the website.
The communication project continues 360°, to launch, in the coming days, the many materials that will best allow us to publicize the rich program of events that are underway, for an enchanted Summer!”
