The Ministry of Health has issued alerts for the very high temperatures that in these days are
also affecting our province, gripped by heat and humidity, which are certainly causing discomfort,
especially to elderly people, some of whom do not have air conditioning systems in their own
homes.
The Municipality of Borghetto Santo Spirito has therefore decided to reopen the facilities of the Elderly Center on Via Milano, which
normally remains closed during the summer period, to make available a climate-controlled space, where people
will be able to spend a few hours in cool environments, equipped with tables, chairs and playing cards.
The facilities will remain open daily from 10:00 to 18:00 and, as always, with free and
unrestricted access.
“This is an extraordinary use of the facilities, which will involve the Local Police, whom we thank
in advance, who will be responsible for regulating the daily opening and closing. We are confident that, even though
the Elderly Center is not active, users will use the municipal facility in compliance with usual rules, taking
the opportunity to spend some time in company. The intervention was designed to provide some relief during
these hot August days, with the hope of being able to help those in difficulty and prevent possible health damage caused by
extreme weather conditions.”
