Climb to Monte Croce

Length: 5.5 km (one way) • Elevation gain: 550 m • Time: approximately 3 hours (one way only)

Continuing uphill from the crossroads at Madonnina del Monte Piccaro, you’ll enjoy increasingly spectacular views of the coast. The route is demanding and always exposed (avoid in uncertain weather or strong sun), but it rewards you with panoramic vistas and some splendid spring blooms: the Tyrrhenian iris in March (a rare plant protected by Regional Law), and stretches of pink rock rose between April and May.
